While our membership is as varied as the colors of the glazes we use, our common bond is a love of clay!
Potters' Guild Celebrates 30 years!
Its hard to believe, but this summer, the Potters' Guild turns 30 years old. Started in June of 1981 with 26 members, the Guild has persisted over the last 3 decades thanks to the dedication and hard work of its membership. Hundreds of potters have participated in annual exhibitions, sales, workshops and community service. Members have contributed countless hours crafting thousands of bowls to raise funds for the local soup kitchen. We have hosted meetings, typed newsletters, made medallions, planned events and demonstrated leadership qualities in an effort of share our time and talents with like-minded individuals who love to play in the mud. Our thanks to everyone who has helped to make this great organization what it is today.
Our Goals
The group's goals are:
- To provide a forum for learning and discussion
- To foster the education of the arts
- To organize workshops about clay
- To sponsor exhibitions and sales of our members' work
- To promote community service
